Henry Coonrod and Polly Meeks

Henry Coonrod was born 1792 in KY to George Coonrod and Rhody Mc Husan.  He died about 1860 in Jersey County, Illinois.

Polly Meeks was born about 1794 and died about 1875.

Henry and Polly were married June 14, 1812 in Hardin County, Kentucky.

They had at least 1 child, Silas Coonrod, born about 1815.

Kentucky Marriage Records show that Henry and Polly were married in Hardin Co., KY in 1812. Not much has been found about Henry Coonrod except in 'A History of Wayne County' he is said to have been in Wayne County in the fall of 1819 when Nathan Attebury moved to Wayne County. Whether he arrived before the rest of the family is unknown. Perhaps this is the approximate time the whole family arrived.

Ron Coonrod, a descendant and Coonrod researcher, has Henry's death in 1860, and in 1830, owning 180 acres in Greene Co, IL and in census of 1830 living in Jersy co., IL.  Fought in Blackhawk War of 1832moved to TX 1847 with brother Thomas

Henry's date and place of death has a conflict based on 2 different accounts.  An near as I can tell this is the son of George and Rhody Coonrod and the conflict is not caused due to the existence of another Henry Coonrod in the same timeframe.  This can happen because the Coonrods multiplied the number of names by naming sons after their fathers and brothers.  If you are doing Coonrod research, you know there are many George, John, Dudley, etc., Coonrods.
