To me, Patrick was 'Uncle Bud'. He was also 'Bud' to many others in the
family as well. I was called Buddy as a youngster and suspect it stemmed from
this.
Although I have memories of Uncle Bud and Aunt Alice as a youngster, there
are many that begin after my release from the U. S. Marines. It was they who
suggested I move to Chicago to get a job since jobs were so scarce in Central
Illinois and I was having no luck in getting one. As a result, I moved to
Chicago. They helped me get my first apartment on Aldine Street on the North
Side. It was also in the same building where they lived. They were very helpful
and gave me much needed guidance as I started my adult life in the big city.
Patrick worked many years as a member of the lath and plasterers' union. When
he retired, he and Alice moved to Florida.
Patrick Michael Frain died on January 28, 2003 at the age of 84 in Plant
City, FL and was cremated. Click on remembrance card to enlarge.
